Day 29 of 31 days of Psychedelic Drawings!
Today’s drawing is a living landscape, quickly evolving from some happy trees to that of a giant anthropomorphic skull. I never know where drawings will go when I put pen to paper without any or many preconceived thoughts in the process. Its a very meditative way of creating and it can unlock imagery that the creator may not have been able to access otherwise. The only preparation going into this kind creative process is practice from previous drawings and the confidence in- as the immortal Bob Ross would put it, “no mistakes, just happy accidents.” A zen application in all facets of life, but a most formidable tool in a creators arsenal. Just like an actor on stage, a visual artist cannot lose control and break from what is at play, they must adapt and follow through with same measure of confidence at the start. For me, improvisational creation is evolution in its purest form.
