Guardian Of The Rain
Guardian Of The Rain
15x30" acrylic on canvas
Painted live during a performance by Russell Batiste Band @ Purple Hatters Ball, Live Oak FL 5/14/11. It was an afternoon performance and as soon as the band began playing and I started painting, a light rain came through. The effect on the background of the painting was created by controlling how many rain drops hit the canvas and pulling the water drops off of the paint as they hit, literally recording the rain into the painting. This is the only painting in thousands of live paintings I have created that has ever had this effect occur to it almost naturally. Live paintings are all about recording the feeling of the specific moment in time and space and recording the rain while dancing to the grooves of Russell Batiste Band is no better example of that. I love the rain, I love dragons, but I've stared at this painting long enough and it is time for this one to find home! Priced to sell!!
